Save MS Word documents as PDF or XPS

MS Office 2007 users can save MS Word documents as PDF files directly from MS Word 2007.
When working in CATS you can save them in the same file folder that CATS uses for the Word documents .

There is an 'Add In' available here

Simply download this, install it and select 'Save As' from the 'File' menu in any MS Word 2007 document.

It works for MS Excel 2007 too!!

Also:-

If you send MS Word or MS Excel documents from MS Office 2007, your recipients that have MS Office 2003 or earlier might complain that they cannot open them.

This is because the format of the 2007 file is different and has the new extension of 'docx' instead of 'doc'. ('xlsx' instead of 'xls' for Excel.)

One option is to save your Office 2007 files as '97-2003' Office files in the 'File/Save As' menu before you send them.

However you can direct them to a download here that enables Office 2007 files that have been saved as Office 2007 files to be opened directly after this is installed on their computers.

Simply direct them to this page instead of sending or describing the link.
